Privacy policy
This policy covers truecanadavest.net, an educational atlas. It does not describe a brokerage, an advisory account, or a trading service, because those services are not offered here.
1. Controller
The controller for personal information collected through this site is the educational project True Canada Vest, 1200 West Georgia Street, Suite 450, Vancouver, BC V6E 4R7, Canada. Contact: learn@truecanadavest.net, +1 (604) 555-0148.
2. How to reach us about privacy
Write to the address or email above and put “Privacy” in the subject. We reply to privacy requests at the same address we use for general contact. We do not operate a separate privacy desk.
3. Form data
The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional subject, and a message. We use that information only to read and answer the message. The form is processed by a script on this site that checks the fields and returns a confirmation. It does not send the message to an external mail provider from this template, and it does not add you to a marketing list.
4. Automatically collected data
The host may keep ordinary server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, time) for security and to keep the site available. We do not use those logs to build a profile of visitors.
Two preferences are stored in local storage on your device, not in a cookie file: eduNoticeAck records that you closed the educational notice, and cookieConsent records whether you accepted or declined the storage notice. You can remove both by clearing site data for this domain in your browser.
5. Legal basis
We handle contact details because you asked us to reply, which is consent you can withdraw by asking us to delete the message. Server logs are kept as a legitimate interest in operating a public website securely. Local-storage flags exist only so the notice and the storage banner do not repeat after you have answered them.
6. Purposes
- Answer a message you sent.
- Remember that you closed the educational notice or the storage notice.
- Keep the site available and respond to abuse of the form.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to recommend investments, products, or platforms.
7. Analytics
This site does not load an analytics product. We do not measure page views with a third-party script, and we do not claim that we do.
8. Advertising
No advertising script, advertising cookie, or ad network is implemented on these pages. If advertising is added later, this policy will be updated before that code runs.
9. Third parties
Pages request font files from Google Fonts so the type can display. That request is the only third-party resource this site loads. We do not embed social widgets, payment forms, or tracking pixels.
10. Retention
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to reply and to keep a short record of the exchange, then deleted. Local-storage flags stay on your device until you clear them. Server logs follow the host’s ordinary rotation and are not kept as a marketing archive.
11. Your rights
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and, where it applies to organisations in British Columbia, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you may ask what personal information we hold, ask for a correction, or withdraw consent for us to keep a message. We do not claim a registration number, because this project does not present itself as a registered financial firm.
12. Transfers
The site is written for readers in Canada and the contact address is in Vancouver. Font files are fetched from Google’s network, which may process that request outside Canada. We do not transfer contact-form contents to another country as part of this site’s own scripts.
13. Supervisory authority
You may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. Residents of British Columbia may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. This page is current as of 2026.
